The Best of Bad

Probably the best thing about B Movies, Science Fiction and Propaganda is the wonderful and wonderfully inspiring artwork. It was obviously used to catch people's attention since the movies weren't any good, or the intention was to brainwash the masses [Reefer Madness is a great example of both]. The bright and dark pastels mesh together and provide thought provoking art. It awakens the imagination and gets me hard [kidding... or am I?].

Anyway, more art work that'll make you cream yourself. Enjoy!

I'm not a Star Trek fan but I haphazardly ran across a Star Trek episode on the Sy Fy channel that must have been from the late 90s early 2000s [maybe?]. It had awful intro music that wasn't science fiction-ish at all. And I believe this Star Trek was created after Deep Space 9 and the Next Generation however, the story takes place before Capt. Kirk's era. Forget the bad actors and stories for a moment and think about the fact that these shows are supposed to take place before Capt. Kirk's era; shouldn't the Enterprise look even more science fiction-ish? And shouldn't the atmosphere capture that art-deco look of the old science fiction zines, pulp comics, movies and novel cover art? And shouldn't the music sound like it came from the old science fiction movies and shows of the 40s, 50s and 60s and not sound like it came from a middle aged woman's iPod rotation*? And where are all the weird gizmos and gadgets sound effects at, HUH? Again, I'm not a fan of Star Trek but I know that that Star Trek wasn't any good or true to the science fiction aspect of the show... AT ALL!

Sorry. Just a mild, random rant. On with the art:

See the crimson reds meshing against the green and the bright flesh tones accentuating the women close to the middle? Beautiful!

This isn't a drawing or a painting but, to me, it is still art.

Obvious sexual innuendo in the propaganda piece. But great pastels and detail in this art.
Now THIS is what that new Star Trek show should've looked like.
Interesting and intense. It makes me wonder what the stories are about!

Again, not a drawing or a painting, but still amazing live art.

Have a wonderful Day!

*I'm not meaning to say all middle aged women listen to one specific type of music. I used an over generalization to get a point across.
